Sunset: Day One

"Seize her!" shouts Mayor parzanese. Several Villagers rush forward to grab her arms. The Innkeeper claps the iron manacles on her arms.

"Make your peace with your maker, Goodwife," mutters the Innkeeper into her ear. She kneels briefly then rises, shooting one last poison glare at the Mayor.

She barely struggles as the crowd takes her to the consecrated ground outside where the twisted, stained Mercy Stump waits amongst the tombstones. The Innkeeper grimly puts the black hood over his face. He takes the Executioner Sword from its stand and steps slowly out to the Stump. Forced to her knees and bound in cold iron, the1mouse trembles.

The sword falls and a spatter of blood flies at the gathered crowd. A scream goes up as Maiden perkyevil points at the stained glass window on the church. "The Blessed Mother is crying! What have we done?!" Spots of blood from the decapitated remains have landed on the window, creating tears under the Mother's eyes. A feeling of doom settles over the assembled Villagers.
