Lupus In Tabula Game 2 will begin Monday, October 17th. Please sign up below and state your preference for a "blind" game or a non-blind game with just a few specials.
I'm in, but I'd definitely prefer a blind game and/or a game with a low special count. Those villagers are getting a little too effective for my tastes! 0:)
Blind has no roles revealed upon death . . . typically when someone dies, their role is revealed . . . I haven't run a game that's blind yet, but was planning on attempting it in the next millers hollow game . . . as a result, you don't know if that person you killed was in fact the seer or a lying bastard wolf . . . it gets very complicated . . .
to help players out, joel can include (and I plan to) two special roles called the Priest and the Notary . . . The priest every night can check on one dead player and find out what their role was . . . the notary obtains last sentances from each dead player (which could obviously be a lie) . . . the notary can use these one liners as he pleases, all of them are revealed upon the notary's death . . .
often players go, we have two seers, if we kill one, we'll find out what the other one is . . . this isn't true in blind games since no new information is revealed when they die . . .
I think the Master Rules on Millers Hollow touch upon blind games, but they're sparse since we haven't tried one out yet . . .
in reality the actual published Lupus in Tabula is a blind game . . . the actual published Millers Hollow is a non blind game . . . the original game (Mafia, and who knows what before that) was never really written down (so I'm not sure if it was blind or not) and was one of those neat party games passed down over the years since at least the seventies and some people claim late sixties . . .
We love fresh meat in the Village! Blind games mean that the role of each person is not revealed upon their death. There are two extra characters typically involved with the blind game. The NOTARY anonymously takes last statements from characters and then, when the NOTARY is killed, all the statements are read aloud for all to hear. The PREIST/MEDIUM can accurately determine the role of any dead character once per night.
